Aside
A Framer portfolio template for product designers, built around a commentary track.
Role
Designer and builder
Team
Solo, AI-assisted
Timeline
2 days
Platform
Framer

Context
Product and UX designers who are job hunting or going freelance need case studies that read in two minutes.
Note 1
You're on a site built from this template. The switch in the header works here too.
Problem
Most portfolio templates show what was built. Very few show why each decision was made, which is the part a case study exists to explain.
Note 2
Hiring managers skim. The reasoning was the part they asked about in interviews anyway.
Decision
One switch shows numbered notes in the designer's own voice, and the work image holds still while the story scrolls past it.
Note 3
The pinned story uses Framer's native sticky positioning only, so it stays smooth on phones.
Outcome
Listed on the Framer Marketplace on Nov 5, 2026. The first QA scan found 42 issues; the final scan found none above low.
Note 4
The checker also missed something on this one, the site language, so it got a new rule the same day.
What we cut
Design-tool decoration: no selection boxes, layer panels or spec labels, which most designer portfolios lean on.
Note 5
A portfolio dressed as a design tool says "designer" before the work says anything.
Before and after
Note 6
The same case study with the commentary off and on.

Lessons
Color styles passed into code components don't switch in dark mode, and one label vanished. Every component now takes a light and a dark color.
